 Introduction to Process

The law was last updated in 1998.

Should be reviewed/updated every 3 to 5 years.

It has been nearly 14 years since the last update.

Need to include projected uses, not covered in current Law, telecommunications and wind energy conversion systems.

The Town Board has asked for assistance in updating the Zoning Law.

Zoning Law Rewrite Committee

Town Board appointed the Committee early January 2012.

Committee has met Tuesday & Thursday afternoons since January 12.

                                          Tonight’s Meeting

This meeting is to introduce the public to the Draft Law and to enable the public to obtain information about the Draft Law in preparation for a “public comment” meeting later this month.

Following the public comment meeting, the Committee will finalize the Draft during committee meetings open to the public.

The finalized Draft will then be sent to the Town Board to enable them to conduct a formal public hearing followed by action and filing.
