Several longtime residents of Cape Vincent who favor wind farm development have filed a defamation lawsuit against two local bloggers they claim have damaged their reputations by publishing false information about them.

Two of the plaintiffs, Marty T. Mason and Donald J. Mason, contend information published about them cost them seats on the Town Council in last fall’s election.

It's a bitch'in little town, isn't it.

The old guard oligarchy freaks out over the introduction of some fresh air and sunshine into the local political scene.

Keep up the good work on this blog.

Where do we send the legal defense funds?

Without the benefit of these two blogs shining a light on unethetical dealings between the former local government and the wind developers, we would be talking about an altogether different town this morning. It would be a town full of wind turbines. The side that dismissed double dealing as their right would have won and the majority would have gotten the shaft.

Thank God for free speech and open accountable government that only free speech can guarantee.

Lets see if I get this right. If I was not born here, lived here all my life, yet I served my country in the military, pay taxes here it was ok for members that have lived here all their lives to attempt to sign petitions to deny me a legal right to vote. Cape Vincent and Clayton are 2 cmtys where it seems they all want your money, smile in your face, and enter knife in back when you turn away. This so called love for military...right, just good money sense. Anyone not from here that ever would believe you will ever really be considered anyone of worth in community, please do not be deceived. Just seeing how individuals that pay full taxes here, but are not considered as citizens should evidence this to even the biggest fools.

I do not just think a little. I observe and listen. All the town board members moved here from somewhere else as did I. But the old way seems to be dying hard for many that believe if you were not born here, you should not even express a opinion. Isn't that why so many are up in arms because the seasonal's voted??? And if I had a dollar for every negative comment I have heard about military I would be rich. But everyone likes the money the seasonals and military bring to the community.
