BP plans larger wind turbines in Cape Vincent

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 21, 2012 CAPE
VINCENT —
BP plans to use larger wind turbines to compensate for the 11 turbines it recently removed from its Cape Vincent Wind Farm plan. In its revised public involvement program plan for community outreach to the state Public Service Commission, BP stated the “latest turbine options under consideration” would reach a blade-tip height of 499 feet, considerably higher than the 430-foot turbines it had been planning to use before taking over the St. Lawrence Wind Farm project proposed earlier this year.
