Oswald will defend Cape zoning plans

If you attended the Oct. 23 Article 10 information session in Cape Vincent, you heard 16 Cape Vincent and Lyme officials blast BP’s new project manager and sing a loud and clear chorus to preserve both towns’ Comprehensive Plans and Zoning Laws.

Three hundred residents watched as town officials complained about the loss of home rule and BP’s past mistakes and shading dealings. They argued that BP’s project would compromise the health and safety of their residents. They condemned BP’s latest plan for 124 turbines as incompatible with their Comprehensive Plans If you attended the Oct. 23 Article 10 information session in Cape Vincent, you heard 16 Cape Vincent and Lyme officials blast BP’s new project manager and sing a loud and clear chorus to preserve both towns’ Comprehensive Plans and Zoning Laws.
More importantly, not one voice among the 16 complimented or supported BP’s new project — not one! Supervisor Urban Hirschey set the tone at the outset describing BP’s attack on Cape Vincent and Lyme as “perilous.”
Cape Vincent voters have a duty to perform on Election Day. Voters have to select a new town board member who will serve during this precarious time, a board member who will stand shoulder to shoulder with those 16 officials who are committed to defending our plans and zoning Laws. Cape voters need to elect Michelle Oswald.
From the outset, Michelle’s campaign focused on supporting and defending our plan and zoning Law and opposing BP’s plan to industrialize Cape Vincent.
As we continue with the Article 10 proceeding in the months to come, we do not need a new board member telling BP or a siting board that he thinks Cape Vincent’s zoning law is too restrictive. We need to add Michelle’s voice to the chorus. We need her ideas, we need her energy, we need her experience and we need her support.
On Nov. 6, please vote for Michelle Oswald.

Michelle's opponent has not been involved in any local public service process. It was only this summer that he showed up at any town meetings. The worse part is when I talked to him about the issues, he insulted the intelligence of the majority of Cape Vincent voters with his pretense. I gave him a chance. He is out of touch.

Michelle has my vote.

Its all about getting out the vote. Who has more to lose this year? The Dems are looking at a total shut out if Aubertine loses. They will have no official voice on the board. Big motivation for them. They can't afford to lose at least a toehold in town affairs.
Look for a big turnout of Dems.

Unanimity is what the Reps. have to gain. Could be instrumental in the Art. X proceedings, maybe not.

Kudos to you, but there are a lot of "Kitty White" types out there.

Better round up all the friends you can, and get them to vote for Michelle.
