There has been a lot of talk about the impending “fiscal cliff” set to hit taxpayers once 2013 rolls around — that is, if the federal government doesn’t get its act together before taxpayers take a fall.
However, the wind energy industry in Texas — especially in the Panhandle — faces its own “fiscal cliff.” On Jan. 1, the production tax credit for the wind energy industry will expire, and this could have a significant impact on the future of wind as a financially viable energy alternative.
