BP's Richard Chandler ~ The Artful Dodger

  Below are transcripts and videos from the public meeting between the Town and Planning Boards of Cape Vincent and Lyme and BP Project Developer Richard Chandler, 10-23-12.

 BP's project developer dodges questions about BP constructing wind turbines in Lyme

Attorney Curtin: The question is, right now the project only entails transmission lines in the town of line. You said you are paraphrasing your words so that you stay only in the context of this application. I'm asking are you interested in ever siting wind turbines in Lyme, in the future with the advent of a new application.

Chandler: no no, determinations been made.

Attorney Curtin: but you are not precluding that are you.

Chandler: again no determination…

Curtin: but you're not precluding -- are you?

Chandler: no determination has been made on that.

Curtin: The answer is yes or no – it's either a yes or no question.

Chandler: No – determinations been made on that.

Curtin: Okay, I got it. We know the answer thank you

Video of conversation

  Lyme Planning Board member Marie Millington addresses BP Project developer Richard Chandler asking the same question as attorney Curtin. A transcript of their exchange and video below.
 ~~~
  Marie Millington: right now it's just a transmission line, we will get that application. What, comes after that, that you're not telling the Town of Lyme?
Chandler: There is no after ma’am; we have a project that we are proposing here.
  Marie Millington: But, clearly you said with this application – – which I caught – – and clearly this means there could be a form of other applications that are going out there. Do you have leaseholders in our town for wind?
Chandler: I, I, I believe, I answered that question before.
 Marie Millington: that’s one town,   I'm asking for our town.
Chandler: I believe we may have lease holdings in there for turbines. That is not, that is not what we are proposing here.
