Recently, two stories about the utilization of solar power in the North Country
appeared in the Watertown Times.
One was about a proposal for a solar energy facility that was
submitted to the Ogdensburg Zoning Board.
Another story was about LAFARGEVILLE, where they will soon be
employing solar energy to power their wastewater treatment plant.
As solar appears to be on the upswing in Northern NY, BP is winding down its solar operations in favor of Biofuels.
At one time BP may have had aspirations to develop solar
energy in the North Country.
In 2006 BP Solar International based in Frederick Maryland applied
for a certificate of assumed name /DBA (short for
"doing business as"). A
DBA certificate allows
you as a sole proprietor to use a business name rather than your personal name.
In 2011 BP solar international closed its doors and met with a
wrecking ball January 2013.
Reportedly with the closing, 80 employees stood to
lose their jobs. BP’s Richard Chandler was one of the more
fortunate as he was retained as a project manager for BP Wind Energy.

Well Cape little old Lafargeville, NY is going with solar panels right behind their school at the local plant. Your missing out on a real energy money making screen. It beats wind turbines any day and keeps the neighborhoods people pleasant and talking to each other.
