A Cape Vincent Resident tells the Public Service Commission: The project will provide benefit with minimal negative impact to our community

case 12-F-0410
The wind power industry is a good choice for development in Cape Vincent. The PSS which BP
submitted clearly explains the studies and how the information applies to the specific project at hand. The impacts, positive and negative, are described and addressed as needed to provide the clear conclusion that the project will provide benefit with minimal negative impact to our community. The visual impact from this clean renewable energy project is minimal due to the placement of the towers a significant distance from the river and lake. The allure of the St Lawrence River and Lake Ontario will be virtually undisturbed by this project yet allowing an industrial development to occur. The openness of the rural landscape will continue under this project by allowing farm land to still continue to be utilized as it is currently with minimal disruption. This combination may not be met with any other form of development for this community. The economic impact for this community is essential to continue to
maintain this community as it has been for decades. Wind power has much to offer Cape Vincent.

It would have minimal visual impact....compared to what!!!

An earthquake, wildfires, tornados?

You can see Wolfe Island windmills from 30 miles away on State Street Hill in Watertown, but you don't think you will see the CVWF from the lake and river <5 miles away.

If it's not true...don't write it!

What Rick really meant here is that the economic impact for "him" is essential in order to create a new lifestyle for "him",since which he forgot to mention, he is a leaseholder champing at the bit to make some easy money.

The only clear conclusion that can be reached is that his powers of observation have been dulled by the visions of profit.

Rick's a great guy, he's just lost his way on this one.

I want my money! I want my money, dammit!

Sorry Rick...

But losing 50% of my home value and not ever being able to sell my home is far from minimum visual impact. But, what we have here is scores of people at the PSC who will not just answer to the company line.
