BP puts North American wind business up for sale

BP is putting up for sale its BP Wind Energy North America subsidiary.
The sale process includes operating assets, development projects as well as personnel, an industry source told SparkSpread.

BP Wind’s portfolio of operating assets comprises 16 wind farms in nine states with gross combined generation capacity of 2.6 GW.

BP and Dominion are partners on the 301 MW first phase of the Fowler Ridge wind farm, with BP retaining sole ownership of 99 MW.
The other operating assets are: Cedar Creek 1, a 300.5 MW wind farm that BP jointly owns with Infigen Energy; the 20 MW Edom Hills wind farm in California; the 50 MW Flat Ridge 1 wind farm; the 99 MW Fowler Ridge 3 wind farm; the 124.5 MW Goshen wind farm in Idaho, which BP jointly owns with Ridgeline Energy; the 150 MW Sherbino 1 wind farm in Texas, which BP jointly owns with NRG Energy; and the 150 MW Sherbino 2 wind farm; the 60 MW Silver Star 1 wind farm in Texas; the 25 MW Titan 1 wind farm in South Dakota; and the 225 MW Trinity Hills wind farm in Texas.

BP Wind’s development pipeline includes some 2 GW of projects that are shovel-ready, according to the spokesman.
Development projects include the 100-150 MW Mill Creek project in Wise County, Va.; the 200-285 MW Cape Vincent project in upstate New York; and the 150 MW Ninnescah project in Kansas. Continue reading via this link to the [Manhattan News]

I thought it was illegal (at least since the Civil War) to sell people in this country.

I know we still do buy people - particularly office holders and political party officials. But I guess that is mostly winked at.

Though no fan of BP, I would hate to see them sell their personnel to a Chinese wind developer.

Marion Trieste and Richard Chandler on the auction block. Now there is a prize. Will they throw in Richard Edsall, too?

Are Trieste and Chandler considered assetts?
