Cape Vincent, Republican Kirk E. Grant will run against incumbent Urban C. Hirschey on the Republican line.

The scene was chaos, barely controlled, at the Jefferson County Board of Elections on Thursday as candidates and party representatives handed in their last-minute party designating petitions in what may prove to be one of the livelier election seasons in recent memory.
More than 373 petitions were filed by the 5 p.m. deadline for county, city, town and village races.

Kirk Grant for supervisor???

God, could this really be the end for The Cape?

Just the thought makes my shoulders droop.

Keep in mind the Grant is a member of the CFG.

They are pro British Petroleum and anti-seasonal resident. As a Judge, Grant ran with 3 candidates who had wind leases with Bee Pee and would have put the town in jeopardy of industrial wind corruption of a massive scale.

Mr. Ethics?

Urban Hirschey's opponent, Kirk E.Grant lost his Cape Vincent Judge seat after loosing the primary and then running on the Cape Conservative (CFG) ticket with three British Petroleum leaseholders who, if elected, would have rendered the Cape government useless because of conflicts of interest and wind corruption. Grant is a member of a lease holding family and a British Petroleum supporter. He is likely a member of the British Petroleum, Voter for Wind spin-off group called the CFG.

Urban Hirschey is a well respected member of the Jefferson County community, well versed and skilled in the outside world, who has proven to be an excellent town supervisor standing up well and cleaning up the Cape government despite the constant political and personal assaults by British Petroleum's local business partners.

I have known Kirk for 50 years....but there is no way in hell I am voting for him. He would put a windmill up in a NY minute.

And, I don't think he has no regard for what wind is doing to his former friends. Shit, Now, I have to avoid my favorite bar and place to eat.

Special Report from the Garlic...

Cape Vincent French Festival Tragedy!

Today a beer truck overturned on Huff Road. the truck was carrying
all the beer needed for the weekend Cape Vincent French Festival. Authorities attempted
to stop Bee Pee lease holding Little Appalachian farmers and turbine cowboys who were looting the cans of Blue Light and loading them into their new pickups. When authorities approached one leaseholder, he screamed, "You can't
tell me what to do on my land !"

Do you work at the department of redundancy department?

prediction: hirschy gets 50-100% more votes than grant

Anonymous said...

9:29 Grant will get the same number of votes that Harvey White received.

Leaseholders + family +close friends.

As before ,Hirschey's fate will rest on the determination of intelligent, open minded residents, year-round and seasonal.

The republican leaders would be best to not underestimate the resolve of the oligarchy to reclaim its power.

Who cares about Hershey, he couldn't even run his prior business over in Carthage, NY, so he went belly-up on the business. I use to work for him.
