ANOTHER CANDIDATE FOR TOWN COUNCIL

Below is a transcript of the resume submitted to the Town of Cape Vincent Town Board  by Paul Aubertine  when he was seeking to be appointed to the Town Council, to fill the seat vacated by Mickey Orvis, in July, of 2012.

I am a little confused. Paul Aubertine tells us that he is a "Self-motivated individual with an outgoing dynamic personality," and that he is a "quick learner."

But his educational experience does not suggest he is a quick learner or that he is very self-motivated. He states that he was a T.I. graduate in 2001. He then apparently began working on his Associates junior college degree, "Monroe Community College 2001 – 2002." Finally, under education he indicates, "Jefferson Community College 2011 – present."

Aubertine's history of trying to finish off an Associates degree after a decade is laudable, but the idea he is a self-motivated, quick learner is laughable. I would hope he has his 2-year degree by now, that would be a good question to ask him. If he does not, then it makes his suggestion he is a quick learner even more laughable.

What his resume suggests is that Paul Aubertine is guilty of padding his resume by trying suggest he is something he is not. He isn't a quick learner, maybe an average or below average learner based on his own admission. This isn't a big crime, but it says something about personal character.

Do you think dad helped him with his resume?

He is endorsed by the Democrats that tired to stop seasonals from voting in the Cape.
YET HE WORKS IN THE SEASONAL TRADE !
I have had enough !!!!
I was born in the Cape. I hung my diapers in the Cape.
I am proud of that because the Cape is special and so are my summer friends. Dozens of my summer friends found my town to be so special that they kept coming and even moved here. Even though I might be a little stingy about sharing with them my favorite fishing spot I would not trade off my summer friends and what I have in my town for anything.
Please stop this horrible thing you started against our summer friends. I think the two political leaders who did this and now want you to vote for this guy owe the summer people and the full time people an apology.

I am especially impressed that the
candidate is able to follow blueprints effectively. Blueprints were replaced in the early fifties by whiteprints. So, this ancient skill will be of value for the town when it comes
to dealing with Bp. Because I think the last blueprint I saw was the 1950's Cape Vincent
map that was used by Bp in there Article 10 Scoping Statement.
What does he mean by successfully monitor seasonal island properties? Is he keeping an eye on them for Harold Wiley and Gary King to make sure they don't vote in the Thousand Islands unless, "They know them, wink, wink!"

From a Democrat gathering I heard banter that the CV town Dems if elected will look to consolidate your village and town. I think Jefferson County towns and villages should maintain their independence. The Ag community should not be allowed to take control of the Crescent and TI regions.

Will his boss who thrives on the summer visitor economic gold mine we have here in the Thousand Islands and Golden Crescent give a reference to a young man who might be part of a Cape Democrat movement to deny seasonal residents the same rights as the so called full timers? The seasonals they seem to detest are a major source of our local tax revenues and business trades. His boss' very successful and well respected business is proof. Don't elect someone who is willing to bite the hand that feeds many of us.

The CFG candidates will try anything to divert the voters attention from the wind turbine issue.

don't be fooled voters, it is still the defining difference between the party candidates, and the most critical issue for the community.

We don't need town officials who mow lawns for seasonal folks, and resent their contribution to the region.

Holy cow, if we had guaged our town officials promise and potential by the level of their discernible learning skills, or education, many of our previous leaders would have never measured up.

At least young Aubertine "ain't" uneducated.

Anon 1:28 You missed the point.

The point of the 6:42 comment was not about how much or how little formal educational training town officials have completed. We have had some very smart officials without any formal training.

The issue was about misrepresenting yourself on a resume. It is perfectly okay to go back and finish schooling, what is not okay is to say you are a quick learner and self-motivated when you have not completed a two-year degree in more than a dozen years.

Forget the quick learner stuff and stick to "outgoing dynamic personality." With Aubertine style trumps substance.

One would think that in twenty something years of education, at least one Civics class would have been in there someplace. That way the kid would know what a referendum was.
