BP's Voter For Wind Website is Gone With The Wind

In September 2012 when BP submitted their Public Involvement program they included the following statement concerning the depth of their community outreach.

Voters for wind display banners for wind
Beginning in 2007, the BP wind energy team has been actively conducting a public outreach program to educate, involve, and engage stakeholders early in the development process of the proposed Cape Vincent wind farm. In 2007, BP retained the services of Marion Trieste and her team of public outreach experts to assist with planning events to educate and engage the public. As part of this effort, BP assisted a group of local wind power supporters and the towns of Cape Vincent and wind to form a group known as voters for wind. Voters for Wind has a website to disseminate information about wind power and also meets regularly to help educate their neighbors about wind power.

Apparently BP has decided not to disseminate information about wind power via the VFW Website.
The Voter For Wind Website has been completely removed from the Internet

For some of us who try to read tea leaves and speculate as to where BP, Article 10 and industrial wind are heading in our town, this rather minor event, the shutting down of VFW's website, says something doesn't it? If the 'Project' was a go and inevitable as some leaseholders and BP propaganda would suggest, then this website would be hot, happy and full of themselves with joy with the idea that their golden goose was coming home to roost.

But that isn't the case, is it? When you stop posting, when your website languishes without any attention or interest, when the major interest comes from the opposition showing VFW as moribund and possibly dead, then that says much about BP, their project and their leaseholders.

If you want to read something into VFW's shut down of their website, you can begin to tell everyone you meet that BP's project is stillborn - dead before it arrived.

Several days after Gary King submitted the damning milk carton evidence and entered it into town records, I attempted to foil the information. It has disappeared even though he did hand it to the board that night. It makes you wonder what other bp supporting documents might have seen the slot of the pro wind shredder.

In Herkimer County a suit was filed against Iberdrola and agencies as a result of bad pre construction information. It was filed by 63 homeowners against Iberdrola and their locally working agents. Voters for Wind were speaking on behalf of Bp, making claims for them and making certain guarantees that there would be no impacts. Perhaps that is one reason why they have evaporated from existence. Thank you for the preservation of the information. Also, citizens of the Thousand Islands are talking up a legal defense fund that will be used to challenge those who have taken certain actions and presented certain formation that have been proven to be damaging to certain classes of citizens.

Voters for Wind has not disappeared completely.

Remember, in a SLAPP claim against members of the community, Gary King, Harvey White, Donnie Mason, Marty Mason, Paul Mason, Marlene Burton, Darrell Burton and Frank Giaquinto described themselves to the Supreme Court as members of Voters for Wind and Citizens for Fair government.

Therefore lies the basis of the existence of the membership of both groups. If they intended to disappear or hide from pre construction information providing and political activity on behalf of bp, then they have failed. They too might be wishing that bp would just go away.

Although members of voters for wind may claim they got nothing from bp, the services and other goodies received from Trieste the organizer have value. Follow the money. I wonder if anyone ever received something special for attending meetings? Hey, union members often get a little bonus for sitting in a chair or standing at a public meeting. The Cape is a very interesting story that ain't over 'til bp and their local supporters walk.
The disappearance of the Voters for Wind might be your start, CV.

For those of you looking at this as a legal maneuver:

"In 2007, BP retained the services of Marion Trieste and her team of public outreach experts to assist with planning events to educate and engage the public. As part of this effort, BP assisted a group of local wind power supporters and the towns of Cape Vincent and wind to form a group known as voters for wind."

Didn't Tireste say Voters for Wind were active two years prior?

This all clearly implicates Voters for Wind as AN OFFICIAL LOCAL AGENT OF BP. It seems that they would now be principal in assuming responsibility for pre construction information.

Did the group have any by laws requiring support of wind development from their members?

Every time I think of what Voters for Wind have done to our community, a little vomit rises into the back of my throat.
