This project has been pending, under various permitting rules, since 2006. It has been the subject of sustained opposition resulting in intense community acrimony and local political upheaval – with all members of local municipal governing bodies now firmly set against the project. Local news coverage over the years has documented a very ugly situation stemming from this proposal – not only in the specific “host” community of Cape Vincent, NY, but in neighboring towns as well whose residents would be highly impacted.

It is hard to imagine that a (rational) buyer for the project can be found. It is hard to imagine that project rights could even be given away to a party willing to take them for nothing.
