There are no winners in the Cape Vincent battle
As the final vote count nears in the hotly contested Cape Vincent town election, it looks more and more like the wind has gone out of the sails, if you will, of the political faction that has staunchly opposed the development of commercial wind power. It isn’t so much that those against the plans by BP Wind Energy to put a wind farm in the town have changed their minds. It’s more likely that the fight has been long and arduous and bitter, and it’s hard to keep that kind of effort up over time. Continue...

Not just the voting issue will go to the courts. The people who have driven the campaign to deny others of their rights to vote will be likely be identified and taken to task in a civil rights violations claims. Exercising your right to vote is not high-jacking, Mr. White.
A DEMOCRATIC YEAR WITHOUT SEASONALS
Dear Cape Vincent,
The Cape Vincent Democratic Party and their candidates, Alan Wood, Paul Aubertine, Dennis Pearson and Betty Pearson have challenged the votes of 77 Seasonal residents. The most logical reason for their wrath is that those people they challenged are likely to vote against them because of past years of bad pro wind behavior.
All of the Democratic candidates who want to serve on the town board but don't want certain people to vote are involved with jobs and businesses that rely on money from summer people.
What would it be like if the Cape Vincent seasonal and the full time residents who support them took a year off from spending any money in Cape Vincent at their businesses, Churches, events, public service organizations and sales agents.
Not one cent!
Do you think the Cape Vincent Democrats and their CFG buddies would notice or even care?
