One would hope the residents in Maine would take advantage of this proposed bill. Of course the caveat is that the commission still reserves the right to determine if eliminating an area would negatively impact the states renewable energy goals. What are the realistic chances the commission would not determine that? On the face of it, it is a reasonable, fair minded, opportunity for residents to control their fate, but underneath it is patronizingly oppressive, political bullshit.
