Apex Clean Energy Lobbied Against Bill to Protect Ft.Drum from Wind Turbines

Documents filed with the New York State Joint Commission on Public Ethics  Lobbying on line filing system ,confirm that  between September 2017 and June 2018, Apex Clean energy engaged Greenberg Traurig to lobby the Assembly, Senate, Executive,the  Department of Environmental Conservation and the Department of Public Service.
Reportedly the focus of their lobbying were two bills concerning the placement of wind farms.
Bill: S1755-A Prohibits the location of certain wind electric generation facilities within
forty miles of an airfield or air base under jurisdiction of any federal military department.

Bill:A9053-A Relates to the location of certain wind electric generation facilities around Fort Drum.


Additionally the two Lobbyists listed in this report, Steven Russo and Robert Rosenthal both have the necessary credentials to get the job done.
Russo was Deputy Commissioner and General Counsel for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and Rosenthal was Assistant Counsel for Energy and the Environment to New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo.

Ontario government cancels 758 renewable energy contracts, says it will save millions

 Ontario's new Progressive Conservative government is cancelling 758 renewable energy contracts, in what it says is an effort to reduce electricity bills in the province.

Energy Minister Greg Rickford said the move will save provincial ratepayers $790 million — a figure industry officials dispute, saying it will just mean job losses for small business.

Firm seeking wind permits in Chowan may be for sale

 EDENTON — The Virginia-based wind energy company seeking permits to build a 40-turbine wind farm in Chowan County could potentially be sold to another company, a wind industry publication reported recently.

 Dahvi Wilson, senior director of public affairs for Apex Clean Energy, told Windpower Monthly in April that Apex is currently undergoing a “strategic review,” and an “M&A transaction is one of the potential outcomes of that review.” An “M&A transaction” would be a merger or acquisition.
