I attended a symposium at JCC in Watertown.
It was conducted by Assembly members Kevin Cahill and Addie Russell.
Addie Russell along with Pattie Ritchie and Ken Blanenbush voted against Article X legislation.
They have taken a public stand on local rule vs. state-corporate rule in energy siting matters.
Even Senator Aubertine, now commissioner of Ag, but then State Senator, commented through his people at Pulaski, NY (Lee Wilbanks was there and told me personally.) that the senator believes that wind siting matters should be a local decision.
During the JCC presentation Addie said something to the effect that we have a glut of power in the North County already and because of Article X siting we probably will not have wind power up here.
She also said that there were many more projects out there in the State that would be closer to the main highway.
Addie has also been helpful to the Town of Cape Vincent when she hosted and took part in a town small business show at the rec park.
I don't believe that the British Petroleum Cape project would be a viable part of Cuomo's energy highway system.
I sent a letter to Mr. Quinones. You can, too.
At the time Mr. Aubertine's people told over a hundred people that at a Pulaski meeting pro wind majority was firmly in control of the Cape V town politics and the chairman of the planning board had signed many leases with the Bp phase of the project.
They are now out of office.
I meant to say at the time Aubertine was speaking in favor of home rule, CV was being run by pro wind on the town board and pro wind chairman of PB.
