“The study shows conclusive evidence that Low Frequency Noise is a significant emission from industrial wind turbines – a fact, in general, denied by the wind industry,” said Steven Delaurier, spokesperson for the BCCRWE. “This (Low Frequency Noise) and other conditions around (Duke Energy’s) Shirley Wind project has forced three families from the homes they still own and the PSC has received sworn statements representing more than 50 people around the 8 turbines in Glenmore reporting adverse health effects.”
The study authorized by the Public Service Commission centers on the Shirley wind farm in the town of Glenmore. It was conducted by Clean Wisconsin, a clean energy advocacy group, and four independent firms. The groups monitored the wind farm for four days in early December.

The study was led by Clean Wisconsin, an environmental advocacy organization that is “generally supportive of wind projects,” according to the 13-page report. The four acoustic firms that conducted tests in early December have worked for and against wind projects in the past..One was Hessler of the famous Cape Vincent sound study debacle
You can't hear low frequency noise, so why all the fuss? Because it can leave some of us with that queezy feeling we've had when the boat is rocking or the car is bumping. If it gets bad enough, people will be leaving their homes. That's what this study says, beware of what you can't hear! What the study also suggests is that the noise limit in our zoning law is compatible with this study's recommendations. This little report will be paraded out for all to see right here in Cape Vincent. Look out BP/Count Dracula, we've now got a silver cross - back in the box, back in the box!
Andrew Cuomo is not concerned with the results of this study. He has decreed that all policies regarding the siting of industrial wind turbines must be "reasonable" especially to wind developers.
A few minor inconveniences to people ,wildlife, the environment, property values,or economies based on scenic quality are inconsequential to corporate profit in the guise of saving the planet.
Nothing will stand in the way of his political goals, least of all some low frequency noise! If people have to abandon their homes, it will only increase new home building.
New York is open for business.
The whole noise...safety...property value...community displeasure....political acceptance thing is falling down on the industry their professional liars and the greedy locals who would sell out their neighbors to a foreign corporation with a bad track record. Thank god we have the right people in office in Lyme and the Cape.
Dave...The Cape is not open for business....you should help them out to fight this mess.
