Morristown seeks Scenic Areas of Statewide Significance designation

MORRISTOWN — The town and village of Morristown councils approved a resolution Tuesday to join with other Thousand-Island communities in an effort to put the region on a map of Scenic Areas of Statewide Significance.

The designation, which is given through the state Department of State’s Office of Communities and Waterfronts, would bolster the region’s tourism, Mayor Cheryl A. Shatraw said.[Watertown Times]
