Recently, a reader suggested that I should focus on the positive during this election season, instead of posting negative things about the Democratic candidates running for office in Cape Vincent.
They pointed out that I waste a lot of time on irrelevant issues like conflicts of interest, voter fraud petitions , illegal voter ID laws , typographical errors and poor job performance to name a few.
I decided that I would give it a go and so... I searched the Internet for positive stories concerning important issues that would define the Democratic candidates qualifications.
Lo and behold I found a positive news story about Alan Wood, Candidate for Town Supervisor.
Last March, Mr.Wood was recognized for his extraordinary ability to grow facial hair.

Al has plenty of time on his hands but he does not keep up to date on what is going on in town affairs. Except when he is campaigning and snooping around the town offices, of course. Al back in the public trust may not be a wise move.
If anyone who doesn't know Al Wood, wants to get a clearer picture of how this candidate thinks and carries himself, just tune in to the Morning Radio show with Jay Donavan.
Wood,AKA-Civic Charlie,is a frequent commentor on the show, sharing many of his opinions about local affairs ,including Cape Vincent politics,with the shows host.
It would be hard to compete with Jay Donavan in a sleazy,ribald,dirty old man,competition, but Wood more than holds his own.
The two of them make perverted mockery of every and any issue.
An eye opener for sure!.
Advertising this show would be the best campaign maneuver the Republicans could ever imagine.
Electing the King of Beards would bring some much needed frivolity into town politics. Instead of Privilege of the Floor Mr. Wood might initiate Yuk of the Night. Instead of being so involved and so serious about Article 10 the town under Wood's leadership could lie down and roll over under the boot of the State. Of course submitting to the State would bring lots of cash into Wood Farms coffers, and that is how business was always done in the good old days - sweet deals for family and friends and screw everyone else.
Wood says without a mustache we'd all mistake him for one of his sisters. Maybe he's right, the town would probably be better off with one of his sisters as supervisor instead of him, beard or no beard.
YUP!
10:18, no doubt a good deal of the frivolity you envision,with Wood as supervisor, would come at the expense of the town's female population.
As certain as "the cows come home" the current, recent, advances and contributions from the "women of Cape vincent" would be subject to much unwelcome lechery from "Civic charlie"
Makes one shudder to think of"Civic Charlie" as the leader of our town.
Al, as a past board member you'll never get my vote after all those shady dealings you did while I was in office. Maybe they deserve to have you for a change, not.
