Politically Motivated Unsubstantiated Accusations made by Harvey White

This letter to the Editor is from the Watertown Times.
Harvey White far left ~ in Green Shirt
The three current Cape Vincent Town Board members running for re-election should be embarrassed to show their faces in public after they were elected to the Town Board on an ethics platform. With this information becoming public, we now know how a local blogger was able to be so privy to inside Town Board information before it was made available to the citizens of Cape Vincent.
Also, the term “quorum” should be explained to them since they think it is OK to have secret meetings at board members houses or bar rooms whenever they feel like it. Not too ethical either.

I was thinking of how best to comment on this. But I then concluded it is just too hard to take the letter and its author seriously.

Seriously Harvey - You cannot actually believe that 3 board member having a drink at a local bar - surrounded by town residents with a wide variety of viewpoints on lots of town business (including wind) were having a "secret meeting"? You were not there - and did not hear that NO conversation about town business was conducted. However, one of the major prowind supporters who was there did feel need to take a picture of the 3 board members.....

Just nothing more than politics "below the belt" - you should be the embarassed one!

Just nothing more than a prowind bully tactic - most people in Cape Vincent no longer are influenced by such behavior.

Guess this letter indirectly says what the Democrat candidates will not say directly - they will support and promote any wind development that is presented to them.

Be careful who you vote for on Tuesday - if you do not want wind in this town - your best bet is Hirschey, Bragdon and Oswald for Supervisor and Town Board.

And if you live in Lyme - do not vote for Julia Gosier - one of the Voters for Wind leaders.

Am I remembering correctly? Harvey lost the Supervisor election two years ago. Is he still this angry?

And we used top give Marion Trieste credit for coming with harebrained hate mongering like this. Seems her former students see doing just fine on their own.

Let me post this comment again now that I have a keyboard instead of a phone screen to type on.

I don't understand what Harvey is so sore about.

Surely he must have learned from the last election (and the two before that) that the priorities he had for the town (beginning with his #1 priority of wind development)were not in keeping with what the majority of town residents wanted.

The prospect of his leadership was rejected for several reasons. Two main reasons were his position on wind and his obvious and often expressed hostility for the majority of voters who absolutely didn't want wind, and who, further, were not real happy about being repeatedly insulted by Harvey and his close allies because they were opposed to wind.

Most political observers would not recommend a strategy of campaigning in favor of goals your constituents plainly don't want, and berating them while you're at it.

At some point this should sink in. But Harvey (and some others) don't seem to have any clear understanding of their own town.

Very peculiar...and somewhat sad.
