NY identifies 372 species “greatest conservation need.”

Dec 26, 2014 — State environment officials in New York have updated the list of species with the “greatest conservation need.”

Those are the plants, animals, fish, and other organisms that face growing pressure from things like habitat loss or climate change. The Conservation Department said nearly 400 species made the list.
