 NYSDEC has a Special Operations Group (SOG). The NYSDEC website describes the SOG as a tactical force that specializes in response to high-risk woodland, maritime, and chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear emergency situations across New York.

The video below shows the NYSDEC officer bursting into a room and shooting a man with a high powered rifle. It also shows unprecedented, new operations potential that goes far beyond enforcement of the usual fish and game laws. 

This is particularly disturbing in the context of Governor Cuomo's new Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA) an act that gives NYSDEC broad powers to enforce Statewide greenhouse gas emissions. Broad powers apparently includes NYSDEC’s new S.W.A.T. team armed with assault weapons designed to kill people, not bears, rabid racoons or coyotes.
