Today is
a good day to appreciate how well-off we are, even during the Pandemic of 2020.
As a
young man, James E. Muschell served in the U.S. Army’s 12th Armored
Division, 43rd Tank Battalion during WWII. He had five tanks
shot-out from under him, twice wounded and was awarded three bronze battle
stars along with two purple hearts. He was also awarded the Prisoner of War
Medal to commemorate his capture and time spent in a German slave-labor camp.
He was liberated on April 13, 1945 by the 15th Scottish
Division. He was my dad.
