COAX Goes to Albany

COAX Coalition on Article X

October 12, 2011 in Albany, NY on the Capitol steps, COAX addressed statewide media personnel on the perils of Article X as yet another tax which the state can levy. The Renewable Energy Standards, Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, FERC’s Order No. 1000 and Article X are all converging in a perfect storm to drive up commodity costs of wholesale electricity through the collection of various taxes imposed on ratepayers. The increase in energy costs will also only serve to drive business away from New York State, which Governor Cuomo claims is “Open for Business”.

The ill-conceived government control of energy siting and technologies hasn’t proven to work at the Federal level, nor is it expected to work at the State level. Article X will prove to be too costly for New Yorkers due to subsidies and Industrial Development Authority tax breaks. Governor Cuomo’s re-enactment of Article X equates to taxation without representation.

Sincerely,
Robert E. Aliasso, Jr. – Member COAX

Wouldn't it have been cheaper just to use tax dollars already raised to fund schools as is the claim as part of all of this? The very money that the conflicted town board and the lease signers get comes from the very people they claim to be serving. None of this will benefit the town, ot the other towns affected. My predictions that commercial interests will dominate the town and its quaint situation in the coming years is a likely reality. All due to the greed and short sightedness of the Scumbag Cabal. The liars and thieves behind it have their agenda, and their propaganda all neatly packaged . The federal government always has enough money for its own agendas. All they have to do is take your taxes and do with it what they want. Making it even harder to do what a normal town used to do before federalization. Republicans aren't going to make things any better. I can easily predict that. Democrats always do their bidding and take the blame for pennies on the dollar. Everyone knows the direction that the current scumbags are taking the town. We'll have to wait and see what the next crew will do when they have control. My guess? It's as good as yours.

There is no guessing about our next crew. John, Cliff and Urban are knowledgeable, educated, & honest and will without a shadow of a doubt take into consideration all the factors associated with wind turbines including the disadvantages which of course is what the mason, mason & orvis gang have continually refused to do.
