Planning Board Chair addresses the Status of BP's Cape Wind project
Tonight at the Cape Vincent Planning Board Planning Board Chair Richard Macsherry read the following letter that he sent to Mr. Richard Chandler Director of Development BP, Wind Energy North America. Regarding the status of Bp’s Cape Vincent Wind Project
RE: BP Wind Energy Application(s)
Dear Mr. Chandler:
This letter is to remind you that the local law entitled Cape Vincent wind
Moratorium will expire Friday, September 7, 2012. The town of Cape
Vincent(New York) planning board has had no correspondence with your
office from well before the law's enactment, to the date of this letter.
The town of Cape Vincent planning board, as Lead Agency SEQR,
requests that BP Wind Energy North America, Inc. Provide A written update
on the status and plans for ward for all current and proposed alternative
energy project, applications specific to this Township. You are asked to
ensure that the requested update is received by the town supervisor's office
no later than Wednesday, October 3, 2012.
Please be advised that in the event that this request is not fulfilled, the town
of Cape Vincent Planning Board reserves the right to deem current
alternative energy project applications under the auspices of BP Wind
Energy to be incomplete and abandoned.
