The recipients for this note were compiled from several lists, so I
apologize that some of you may be receiving this in duplicate.
The Siting Board has received a petition seeking declaratory rulings on
whether a zoning ordinance that prohibits major electric generating
facilities and a local law prohibiting a waste-to-energy generation
facility to receive solid waste imported from outside the Town are the kind
of local laws that the Siting Board has the authority to find to be
unreasonably restrictive. Since these questions may have broad
application, I thought that we should give you this information.
