There has been NO public involvement between BP and Cape Vincent's residents.
In 2002 my husband and I began looking for a place to retire. We felt very fortunate to find Cape Vincent as it was beautiful and peaceful and the people who we met here early on seemed so friendly.
We built our home and moved here in 2005. In 2007 the friendly spirit of the community seemed to unravel when we found out that for years the developers were already signing up landowners and public officials.
It seems that the developers were not interested in any "public involvement" until they had sufficient signed contracts.
And as far as BP goes, there has been NO public involvement between BP and Cape Vincent's residents. Their only involvement has been with their leasholders and the community organizers.
We ask that you allow Cape Vincent remain the beautiful peaceful place that it has always been and not allow it to be marred by the proposed windfarm.
Sincerely,
